COLUMBIA — Dawn Staley is coaching in her 14th Women's NCAA Tournament with South Carolina women's basketball. Staley was hired by the Gamecocks in 2008, with her first NCAA Tournament appearance in 2012 season, and she has yet to miss a March Madness since. This would be her 15th appearance had the 2019-20 season not been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. South Carolina won the SEC Tournament in 2020 and was projected as the No. 1 overall seed. The Gamecocks (31-3) are No. 4 overall this year and the No. 1 seed in the Sacramento 4 Regional, with their first game on March 21 (1 p.m. ET, ABC) against No. 16 SAMFORD/SOUTHERN.
