Work ethic, drive to succeed spurred KJ Torbert's historic hoops career at East Lansing
Kelvin Torbert saw the potential at an early age. As the former Flint Northwestern star and Michigan State basketball player was still going through his playing career, he can remember his son, KJ, as a 3- or 4-year old being on the other end of the court during practices dribbling through cones and shooting. "It was something that came natural to him," Torbert said. "He's been working at this his whole life." And the talent continued to grow as KJ got older.
