It was never going to be easy for No. 2 Ohio State against No. 1 Penn State in Friday night’s Big Ten wrestling showdown at Bryce Jordan Center. Had the Buckeyes been at full strength, they had a difficult path to endeing PSU’s consecutive win streak. But Ohio State (17-1, 6-1) had to make a go of it against Cael Sanderson’s guys without standouts Ethan Stiles, Brandon Cannon and Carson Kharchla. Huge victories by Penn State’s Luke Lilledahl and Marcus Blaze in overtime ended the suspense early. A record BJC crowd of 16,006 was roaring.
