EAST LANSING – After back-to-back losses, the Spartans stopped the bleeding with their biggest win of the season. No. 10 Michigan State shook out of a funk by pulling out an 85-82 overtime win against No. 5 Illinois at the Breslin Center on Saturday night. Jeremy Fears scored 11 of his game-high 26 points in overtime and added 15 assists as the Spartans halted their first losing streak of the season with their first top-10 victory. Jaxon Kohler added 11 points and 16 rebounds for Michigan State (20-4, 10-3 Big Ten), Kur Teng and Jordan Scott both scored 10 while Coen Carr and Carson Cooper combined for 17 points and 16 rebounds to snap Illinois’ 12-game winning streak.
