Larry Rubama: Salem boys basketball celebrates 25th anniversary of state title

VIRGINIA BEACH — Friday night was a special night at Salem High as the school honored the 2001 Group AAA state championship boys basketball team. There at center court stood the SunDevils’ starting lineup of John Gilchrist, Antonio Johnson, Jacoby Key, Paul Johnson and Zohn Burden. With them was their legendary coach, Bill Cochrane, and then-athletic director Mark Harrison. As I stared at them, memories of what they accomplished that special season raced through my mind.
