El Paso's Eastwood HS 1976 boys basketball team to be honored

History will be honored at Eastwood High School. The 1976 UIL boys basketball state championship team from Eastwood will be recognized at halftime Tuesday, Jan. 27, at the Troopers' home game vs. Franklin. The boys' game begins at 6 p.m. The Troopers are the last basketball team from El Paso, boys or girls, to win an UIL state championship. The championship team was also honored in 2016 with the unveiling of a banner on the 40th anniversary of its state title.Celebration also includes Monday activities The school will also hold activities for the team on Monday, Jan. 26.
