Sam Becker of Mokena, Ill., is a firefighter and paramedic by day. He also makes very good use of his time off work. An avid angler, the 25-year-old Becker has a special interest in fishing for the largest, toothiest things that swim in the Midwest. That takes him to some Illinois waters relatively close to his home where muskellunge are stocked. And also on longer trips to Wisconsin, where he trailers his boat to the Badger State's rich waters, including Green Bay. The musky is, after all, Wisconsin's state fish.
