Barring any extremely late surprises, the period of losing players to the portal is over. Missouri football, with the college football transfer portal closed for new entries as of 12:01 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, has added 24 players out of the transfer portal so far. Just because players can no longer enter the portal, though, doesn’t mean Mizzou’s business is done. The deadline is only for new entries. Provided that a player’s name is already in the database or their paperwork was submitted to enter the database before that deadline, they can still transfer and sign with a new school at essentially any time.
