VIRGINIA BEACH — After nearly a decade of considering and testing improvements to the Oceanfront’s busiest thoroughfare, the City Council plans to take action this year on recommendations from a mayor’s taskforce. “Let’s get on with it; let’s get this done,” said Vice Mayor Rosemary Wilson on Tuesday after hearing the taskforce’s wish list of upgrades. They include new milling and paving, new sidewalks, small cafe parks dubbed micro-commerce areas, bike lanes, raised crosswalks, local art and enhanced lighting and landscaping.
