Summit hockey drops to 1–6 after challenging start against mountain and Front Range foes

The Summit High School boys hockey team has been challenged over the last few weeks. After opening the season with a triumphant 4-3 win over Glenwood Springs on Nov. 21, Summit has proceeded to drop its last six games, including two games against opponents in the 4A Mountain League. Coming off a loss in the semifinals to Glenwood Springs last year, the season opening win was monumental to the program as well as first year head coach Ben Stuckey. The Tigers tried to capitalize on the momentum it gained from its first win by taking on Battle Mountain the very next day on Nov. 22 in Vail, but the team was shutout by its I-70 corridor foes.
