High school basketball roundup: Waynesburg rallies to edge Charleroi

Waynesburg overcame a double-digit deficit and rallied for a 68-65 home-court win over Charleroi in a Class 3A Section 4 boys basketball game on Monday night. Waynesburg (2-0, 4-4) trailed 27-14 at the end of the first quarter. However, the Raiders turned the game around by holding Charleroi (0-2, 4-5) to only three points in the second quarter as Waynesburg took a 31-30 lead into halftime. The Raiders pushed their lead to 48-45 after three quarters and both teams scored 20 points in the final period. Waynesburg placed five players in double figures led by Dane Woods’ 19 points.
