Spring Grove’s David Czapp named PennLive YAIAA football Defensive Player of the Year

SPRING GROVE — David Czapp is a made man with plenty of individual accolades, but one thing had always eluded him up to this point. Czapp and his fellow seniors had never reached the postseason before, let alone capture a playoff victory. Coming off of a 5-5 campaign from last year with one season left, Czapp and company made the most of it. Heating up at the right time defensively with just 14 points relinquished over the final two weeks of the regular season, Spring Grove’s defense played air-tight when it mattered most.
