A study carried out by the body revealed that disabled people continue to face a broad spectrum of obstacles that prevent them from taking part in sport, while also underlining the unique power of the Paralympics to help dismantle those barriers. Surveys conducted last week by the data, research and advisory firm Savanta before and after the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games show that confidence levels among disabled people are significantly lower in sporting and physical-activity settings than in almost any other area of daily life.
