'Epitomizes our program': Croatan's Neely McMannen is area girls basketball player of year

Neely McMannen is exactly what the Croatan girls’ basketball team is all about – on and off the court. Coach Andrew Gurley said that and more as he spoke of the senior, the area player of the year. “Neely is somebody who epitomizes our program. When you think of Croatan basketball, you think about her,” Gurley said. “She was one of the main keys to our success in the last couple of years, and she is such an easy person to coach. She never complained and she did exactly what we asked. She is a special player who had an unbelievable career.”...
