Eagle snowboarder Jake Pates finished his Olympic comeback with an 8th place finish in the halfpipe finals in Livigno, Italy on Friday. As Pates dropped into his first run of halfpipe finals, he came out swinging with a switch backside 1080, then into a 1260, and then stomping a frontside triple cork 1440 — the same trick that helped Japan’s Ayumu Hirano secure the gold in 2022.
