NEWS: FORT LAUDERDALE IN GREEN

In early January, Fort Lauderdale commissioners approved a master plan for urban reforestation. The project to plant 276,000 trees by 2040 is an ambitious and strategic environmental initiative that will help combat climate change and improve citizens’ quality of life. This green plan could cost $103 million. This is very little compared to the cost of a single hurricane, with Ian alone costing between $109 billion and $115 billion in 2022.
