EL MONTE — For the second year in a row, El Monte’s football season came to an end in the CIF playoff quarterfinals. This year’s heartbreak was a 21-14 Division 11 loss to Western Christian on Friday night. Western Christian (12-0) had a go-ahead 60-yard touchdown run by Yoan Chairez and a 65-yard scoop-and-score fumble recovery to edge El Monte (8-4).
