Brage Lange To Replace Morten Givskov

By Per-Åke Persson

Norwegian heavyweight Brage Lange (9-0, 9 KOs) has stepped in on short notice for the injured Dane Morten Givskov (6-0-1) and will fight Czech Tomas Salek (23-8) on April 25 in Kolding, Denmark.

Lange has recently been training and sparring with Icelandic heavyweight Kolbeinn Kristinsson and was lined up to fight on the undercard of the cancelled show in Reykjavik on April 10.

Salek, who tends to lose every time he fights outside the Czech Republic, was stopped by Richard Torrez Jr. in the first round last time out, but still represents a step up in class for Lange, who has fought only soft opposition thus far in his career.

Jacob Bank (18-0) headlines the show and defends his WBO Global title against Namibian Paulinus Ndjolonimu (20-1). Should Bank win—as he is very much expected to do—a major title shot abroad could be next.
