Lady Captain´s Weekly News

Thank you to Svetlana for looking after the ladies whilst I was away in  England. We are now fully into summer with August just around the  corner. From Thursday we will be teeing off first, which I’m sure will  come as a relief to many of us. The expression “mad dogs and  Englishwomen go out in the midday sun”, comes to mind!!!  

We had our normal Tuesday and Thursday competitions. Stephen  officially opened the new Bar Area, which I think looks great. Any  suggestions or comments welcome as we want to support our new  private area.

The weekend ending with the Zero Party – Many congratulations to  Graeme Willis for organising an amazing event for family and friends.  Over 100 played a Texas scramble on Saturday followed by dinner in  the Courtyard for over 200 (Photos on the last page)

After our Thursday competition 

we all gathered for the opening of our new 

MEMBERS BAR & TERRACE. The club  served delicious tapas and an open bar which  we all enjoyed.  

Stephen gave a quick speech letting us know that we will have our  own waiting staff who will solely look after the members and  encouraging us to us this new facility. The picture above is taken  outside our new bar.

For the ladies who are going on tour, I hope everyone has  received their email from Josh Hunter asking for the last  payment – I can confirm I have 20 ladies going to Estoril in  September – it should be an adventure !!! 

BUSY WEEKEND with Abbeygate Ranking on Saturday and the  very popular President’s Cup on Sunday followed by lunch and  prize giving courtesy of our President Stephen. 

There are a few summer evening events also coming up in  August, beginning on 6th August with the Gastronomic Summer  Fair.
