Arteta scoops first Premier League Manager of the Month Award in over two years

0 2

Mikel Arteta has been named Premier League Manager of the Month for March after guiding Arsenal to a flawless run in the league during the period, marking his first such recognition in over two years.

The Spanish tactician, who is chasing a first Premier League title with Arsenal since 2004, led the Gunners to three victories from three matches in March.

Arsenal began the month with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium, followed by a narrow 1-0 triumph over Brighton & Hove Albion, before wrapping up with a convincing 2-0 victory against Everton.

The impressive run saw Arteta outpace fellow nominees, including Newcastle United’s Eddie Howe, Everton’s David Moyes, Regis Le Bris, and Brighton manager Fabian Hürzeler, to claim the honour.

It is his first Manager of the Month award since February 2024 and his eighth since taking charge of the North London club in December 2019.

Arsenal currently sit top of the Premier League table with a nine-point cushion over second-place Manchester City, strengthening their title ambitions.

Despite their flawless form in the league, the Premier League leaders have recorded mixed fortunes in cup competitions.

Arsenal secured a notable victory over Bundesliga side Bayer 04 Leverkusen to advance to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League.

However, the Gunners suffered disappointment in the EFL Cup final, where they fell 2-0 to Manchester City at Wembley Stadium, missing out on their first major trophy of the campaign.

As the season approaches its decisive phase, Arteta will be keen to sustain his side’s momentum and guide them to a long-awaited league triumph.
