Arsenal have 'just made an offer' for £52m midfielder, talks held with reps
Arsenal have opened talks with the representatives of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Senny Mayulu over a summer transfer, according to Media Foot.
The 19-year-old is one of the best young players in the French top-flight. His future is uncertain with his PSG contract expiring in the summer of 2027.
Les Parisiens have already made a sizeable contract offer, but the Frenchman has yet to be convinced to prolong his stay with the reigning European champions.
Media Foot now claim that Arsenal have ‘just made an offer’ to Mayulu’s representatives, and they are optimistic of signing him if he does not renew with PSG.
Mayulu’s versatility makes him a lucrative signing
The teenager is primarily a central midfielder, but he has also played almost 600 minutes as a centre-forward this term. He has made 10 goal contributions from 32 appearances, and recently scored a stunning long-range goal against Chelsea in the Champions League.
Mayulu has also excelled with his distribution and defensive attributes. He has completed 89 percent of his passes in Ligue 1, while winning four duels and two tackles per game.
The Frenchman has likewise made regular recoveries and caught the eye with his ball control. Hence, Mayulu has the potential to become a top-class player in the long run.
Paris Saint-Germain reportedly value him at £52 million, but the price could end up being much lower. Les Parisiens won’t be in a strong position to negotiate with his contract expiring next year.
A deal worth £30-35m, including add-ons, would represent good business for Arsenal. The Gunners could make a genuine approach if Mayulu continues his contract standoff until the summer.
