Arsenal’s Setford, Clarke in contention for Premier League 2 Player of the Month award
Arsenal youngsters Tommy Setford and Brayden Clarke have been nominated for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award for February following their impressive performances for the club’s development side.
The duo earned the recognition after helping Arsenal lose just one of their five matches during the month.
The young Gunners recorded victories over Newcastle United, Leeds United and Reading, while also drawing with Everton before suffering a narrow defeat to Ipswich Town.
Clarke featured in all five matches and delivered solid defensive displays, helping Arsenal concede only two goals across the run.
The goals came in a 4-1 win over Reading and a 1-0 loss to Ipswich at the Mangata Developments Stadium.
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Setford played in four of the fixtures and produced standout displays, helping the Gunners keep three clean sheets against Newcastle, Everton and Leeds United.
The pair will compete for the award alongside Rio Kyerematen (Tottenham Hotspur), Chido Obi (Manchester United), Matty Warhurst and Kian Noble (Manchester City), as well as Joshua Ajala and Reyan Clayton (West Ham United). The winner of the award is expected to be announced on March 13, 2026.
Despite the strong individual performances, Arsenal currently sit 10th in the Premier League 2 standings with 25 points, nine points behind leaders Chelsea, although the Gunners still have a game in hand.
Setford and Clarke will hope to maintain their impressive form in the coming weeks as Arsenal look to improve their position on the league table.
