25yo Brazilian star eyeing Premier League move, dreams of playing for Arsenal

0 4

Zenit St Petersburg winger Luiz Henrique has his sights on moving to the Premier League during the summer transfer window, according to journalist Bruno Castanha.

The Brazil international signed for Zenit from Botafogo in January last year, and he has made 10 goal contributions from 33 appearances in all competitions thus far.

This includes two goals and three assists from 16 league games this campaign, and he is now eyeing a potential move to a big European team, preferably in England.

Speaking to Bolavip, Castanha said he spoke to Henrique’s representative, and a switch to the Premier League appears to be a priority for the former Real Betis attacker.

He said: “The agent’s response was: we see it positively (playing for Flamengo), but my first option is to put him in a big European team. Preferably, in the Premier League.”

Back in November last year, Henrique spoke about his admiration for the Premier League. He mentioned that he is a huge fan of Arsenal and Manchester City and would like to play for either club.

The 25-year-old also said that his relatives believe he has the perfect profile for the Gunners.

Arsenal have not made any formal contact for the winger, but it remains to be seen whether they contemplate an approach if he were to become available this summer.

Henrique has made five goal contributions from 16 league outings this season, but has also impressed with other attributes. He has won 6.6 duels per match with 1.6 take-ons.

The Brazilian, who can play on either wing or upfront, has also made 4.2 recoveries with 1.6 tackles.

Henrique had similar statistics in terms of dribbling and duel-winning ability in his time at Betis too. He spent one-and-a-half seasons with the La Liga outfit before joining Botafogo (January 2024).

The Gunners have not expressed an interest in landing Henrique, but the versatile ace could be a player to watch out for when the transfer window reopens at the end of the campaign.
