"Class": Bruno Fernandes sends message to Arsenal star who won 100% aerials vs Leeds

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has praised Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice after he made his 300th Premier League appearance during the 4-0 victory over Leeds United at Elland Road.

The Gunners returned to winning ways in the league with a comfortable result against the Whites. Rice was drafted back into the starting line-up after serving a suspension in the Champions League.

He had a top-class outing in the heart of the midfield. The Englishman won four out of five duels, including a 100 percent aerial success rate (2/2). He also made three recoveries and four clearances.

The 27-year-old completed 45 passes in the game and should have had at least an assist. Jurrien Timber and Gabriel Jesus missed quality chances to score against Daniel Farke’s side on the road.

Shortly after the game, Rice posted on Instagram, highlighting his 300th appearance in the English top flight. There were several reactions from players, including United’s Fernandes.

Fernandes and Rice have trained in pre-season together in the past. The Red Devils captain described Rice as ‘class’ after the Englishman achieved a notable career milestone at just 27.

Arsenal suffered a disappointing 3-2 loss to the Red Devils last weekend. They were touted to face another tough outing against Leeds, who had lost one of the previous 11 matches.

The Gunners delivered the perfect response with a 4-0 triumph over the Yorkshire outfit. It was a statement win and will add pressure on Manchester City and Aston Villa later today.

The pair are now seven points adrift of Arsenal for the top spot in the standings. Man City and Villa need to beat Tottenham Hotspur and Brentford respectively to reduce the gap to four points.

Arsenal’s immediate focus will turn to the second leg of the League Cup semi-final against Chelsea at home on Tuesday night. They have a 3-2 aggregate lead from the first leg in west London.
