Timber and Rice next In line for improved Arsenal contracts
Arsenal are continuing their drive to secure the long-term futures of their key players, with Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber next in line for contract renewals as the club looks to build a team capable of sustained success.
The Gunners have already tied down several important figures over the past few months, including William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly, while talks over a new deal for Bukayo Saka are progressing well.
The England winger is expected to commit to an improved long-term contract that will make him one of Arsenal’s highest earners. Saka’s importance to Mikel Arteta’s plans cannot be overstated.
The 23-year-old has become a core member of the squad’s leadership group and has captained the side several times this season in Martin Odegaard’s absence.
Sporting director Andrea Berta, who has earned praise for his work since joining the club in April, views securing Saka’s future as one of Arsenal’s most significant priorities.
Attention is also turning to Jurrien Timber, whose impressive return from a long-term knee injury has strengthened his case for an extended deal.
The Dutch defender has quickly re-established himself as a reliable presence in Arteta’s setup after missing almost all of his debut campaign. Arsenal want to reward his progress and commitment with improved terms.
Declan Rice’s situation is also being monitored closely, even though his current contract still has more than two years remaining.
Arsenal are keen to avoid any uncertainty surrounding one of their most influential players, with Rice now a central figure in both midfield and leadership on and off the pitch. The club see him as a cornerstone for the next phase of Arteta’s project.
Beyond new signings such as Viktor Gyokeres, Eberechi Eze, Noni Madueke and Martin Zubimendi, Arsenal’s strategy has focused on long-term stability. Ensuring continuity through contract renewals has been just as vital as their summer spending spree.
Over the summer, the Gunners also agreed pay rises for David Raya and Leandro Trossard, further underlining their commitment to maintaining a settled, competitive squad.
With key players locked into long-term deals and a core built for the future, Arsenal’s hierarchy believe the foundations are now in place not just to compete for the Premier League title this season, but to remain among Europe’s elite for years to come.
