Martinelli starts in 4 big changes | Predicted Arsenal line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Olympiacos

0 13

Arsenal host Olympiacos in the Champions League tonight.

The Gunners have faced the Greek outfit on several occasions in Europe. Olympiacos have surprisingly won in their last three visits to the Emirates Stadium.

Mikel Arteta’s side have the opportunity to end the streak with a convincing win.

Ahead of the game, we anticipate at least four changes from the 2-1 comeback triumph over Newcastle United in the Premier League at St James’ Park on Sunday.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Predicted Line-up:

David Raya is an undisputed starter between the sticks. He will be eyeing his fifth clean sheet of the campaign against the Greek champions.

In the defence, Arteta may opt for some rotation on the back of a hard-fought win at the Magpies.

Jurrien Timber and Riccardo Calafiori could be rested with Ben White and Myles Lewis-Skelly occupying their positions at right-back and left-back.

William Saliba should be reinstated in the line-up alongside Gabriel Magalhaes in central defence. He came on as a half-time substitute against Newcastle.

Cristhian Mosquera is poised to drop to the bench.

In midfield, we don’t anticipate any changes. Martin Odegaard has just returned from another shoulder injury and could make another substitute appearance.

Arsenal need continuity in the centre of the park for the short term until the international break.

Martin Zubimendi and Declan Rice should continue in the heart of the midfield with Eberechi Eze occupying the number 10 position against Olympiacos.

Eze was unlucky last weekend as Nick Pope made two fabulous saves to deny him a goal.

Further forward, Bukayo Saka is poised to start on the right wing. Viktor Gyokeres is guaranteed to lead the line for the Gunners. He will be aiming to end a four-match scoreless streak.

On the left wing, it could be a straight swap between Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli. Martinelli should return to the starting XI with Trossard dropping to the bench.
