"Too good": Dowman sends message to £35m Arsenal star who won 10 duels vs Forest

Arsenal returned to winning ways in the Premier League with a 3-0 triumph over Nottingham Forest at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners were anticipated to face a tricky fixture against Forest, particularly after Ange Postecoglou was announced as their new manager this week.

However, they managed to secure a comfortable victory in the end. Martin Zubimendi bagged the man of the match after scoring the first brace of his senior career.

Noni Madueke also earned plenty of praise from the Gunners’ faithful. The Englishman won 10 duels against Forest while completing four crosses and five dribbles.

He created five chances in the game which was the most for any player on the day. Madueke received a standing ovation from the fans during his late substitution.

The 23-year-old had a superlative performance. Max Dowman was one of those to praise his compatriot on his Instagram post, he commented: ‘Too good’.

Madueke’s move to Arsenal was met with a mixed reception among the fans, but the winger has quickly won over the faithful with his performances this campaign.

Against Liverpool, he was the best attacking player on the pitch. The £35 million-rated star had three goalscoring attempts and induced a fine save from Alisson.

He had a superb showing against Forest yesterday. He was brilliant with his movement, dribbling and ability to hold off defenders with his physical presence, cutting inside from the right wing.

Madueke could not muster a direct goal contribution, but he did provide a corner which indirectly contributed to Zubimendi’s sensational strike from outside the box.

He is expected to continue on the right wing when Arsenal take on Athletic Bilbao in their Champions League opener on the road. Bukayo Saka could return from injury next weekend.
