10 duels & 5 dribbles won, 3 tackles: £35m Arsenal star had a superlative 8.5/10 display v Forest

Arsenal picked up a 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Saturday.

The Gunners were anticipated to face a tricky challenge against Ange Postecoglou’s side in the early kick-off at home.

However, they prevailed with a comfortable victory. Martin Zubimendi was the man of the match with two fantastic goals.

The Spaniard opened the scoring with a stunning volley from outside the box in the 32nd minute.

Viktor Gyokeres doubled the Gunners’ lead shortly after the break. Zubimendi headed home the Gunners’ third goal.

Alongside Zubimendi, Noni Madueke had a superlative performance against Forest despite not directly contributing to a goal.

The England international had a dominant display from the right wing in the injury absence of Bukayo Saka once more.

Madueke won an impressive 10 ground and aerial duels. He completed four crosses alongside five successful dribbles.

He also worked hard defensively with three tackles and three recoveries, while also creating five chances for the London giants.

The £35 million-rated star could not cap the performance with a goal or an assist, but his first-half corner led to Zubimendi’s stellar goal.

Madueke was brimming with confidence against Forest after scoring his maiden England goal versus Serbia earlier this week.

He received an 8.5 rating out of 10 from Sofascore for his sublime display.

The onus is now on him to replicate the showing when Arsenal take on Athletic Bilbao in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Bukayo Saka is close to making his comeback from a hamstring injury, but may only be fit for the Manchester City game next weekend.

If Madueke can produce another top-notch display in midweek, manager Mikel Arteta may find it hard to drop him from the first XI against City.
