Arsenal have big plans for Max Dowman heading into next season as he can play as a number 10 or out wide, and he is already performing like a first-team player in training, according to the Independent journalist Miguel Delaney.

Dowman has proven his quality at youth level after coming through the Arsenal academy, and he is now set to be a regular part of the first-team set-up despite his tender years.

Chelsea were keen to lure him away from the North London club earlier this summer, floating the idea of involving him in the deal for Noni Madueke during preliminary talks, but the Gunners promptly discarded the idea.

A viral video clip of him in training emerged last week, and he did not look out of place against the likes of Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard.

He faces fierce competition for playing opportunities given the plethora of forward options available to Arteta, with the Spaniard still looking to do a deal for Crystal Palace attacker Eberechi Eze.

However, Dowman has what it takes to establish himself as a Premier League star, and he could be playing regularly for Arsenal before turning 20.

He turns 16 in December and will be unable to feature in the Champions League until next year, but he can play in the domestic competitions as there are no age restrictions, and the fans cannot wait to see him in regular action.
