An unexpected rendezvous: Arsenal forward primed for Portugal training camp twist

0 3

Fenerbahce have stepped up their pursuit of Arsenal forward Leandro Trossard, with the Turkish giants eager to bring him into their squad before heading to Portugal for their summer training camp.

The Super Lig runners-up are looking to replace Allan Saint-Maximin, who returned to Al-Ahli after the end of his loan spell, and have identified Trossard as their top target for the left-wing position.

According to Turkish sources, official negotiations between the two clubs are already underway, with Arsenal valuing the Belgian at €20 million.

Fenerbahce have responded with an opening offer of €15 million and are hopeful of reaching a compromise in the coming days.

Trossard, who turns 30 later this year, is entering the final year of his Arsenal contract, with an option to extend by one year, but there have been no significant developments in talks over an extension.

The former Brighton & Hove Albion winger is reportedly open to a move this summer if the right opportunity arises, particularly one that offers regular football and a strong financial package.

Reports from Turkey indicate that Fenerbahce are ready to offer Trossard a three-year deal worth €5 million per season, a proposal that aligns with the player’s expectations.

Trossard recently changed representation, signing with DW Sports Management, a group with well-established links in Turkish football, potentially smoothing the path for a deal.

Fenerbahce, now managed by Jose Mourinho, are actively reshaping their squad with experienced names as they prepare for a renewed title push.

The club has already secured Jhon Duran on loan from Al-Nassr and are determined to add more firepower before the season kicks off.

Mourinho is believed to be a strong admirer of Trossard’s versatility and technical quality, particularly his two-footed ability and comfort in multiple attacking roles.

Trossard joined Arsenal from Brighton in January 2023 for an initial £21 million plus £5 million in add-ons.

He featured in 56 matches across all competitions last season, contributing 10 goals and 10 assists, playing a key role in Arsenal’s second-placed Premier League finish and Champions League semi-final run.

Fenerbahce are now pushing for a swift resolution and want the player to join their squad before the team departs for pre-season in Portugal.

Arsenal are expected to give a formal response soon, with further talks likely in the coming days as all parties weigh their options.
