Arsenal have now offered £50m to sign 23-year-old star, personal terms finalised - Journalist

Arsenal are poised to continue their spending spree in the coming weeks.

The Gunners have announced a couple of signings during the summer transfer window.

Kepa Arrizabalaga and Martin Zubimendi have been signed from Chelsea and Real Sociedad.

Fabrizio Romano now reports that Arsenal have submitted an initial bid of £50 million including add-ons to purchase Chelsea winger Noni Madueke.

However, the Blues want more than £50m as a fixed fee. The recent transfer of Anthony Elanga to Newcastle United is reportedly a benchmark.

Arsenal and Chelsea have a good working relationship. Madueke has already agreed on personal terms with the Gunners over a long-term contract.

Arsenal likely to overpay for Madueke’s services

The 23-year-old has been an important player for the Blues in recent years. He has had a decent campaign, scoring 11 goals and providing five assists in all competitions.

Despite this, there are doubts over his ability to succeed at Arsenal, given that he may join the club as a starter on the left wing. He has barely had any success in the position.

His stats on the left wing are visibly poor, with just two goals and one assist from 11 outings. Hence, we are surprised by the club’s decision to pursue a deal for him.

There are some suggestions that he could join the club as a backup for Bukayo Saka on the right wing. With a price tag of more than £50m, he would be an expensive deputy.

Hence, the proposed move has not gone well with some of the fans. It appears Arsenal are likely to overpay for Madueke’s services. An improved offer looks very likely.

Kai Havertz answered his critics in fine fashion after his move to Arsenal from Chelsea two years ago. Madueke will be aiming to do something similar if he makes the switch.
