Arsenal Women announce major signing - international star pens deal

0 6

Arsenal Women have confirmed the signing of Taylor Hinds after her contract with Liverpool expired.

The 26-year-old joins as the Gunners aim to build on their recent Women’s Champions League success.

She becomes the second new signing this summer. Arsenal had earlier completed a deal for England winger Chloe Kelly.

Her arrival will boost competition at full-back. Hinds can play on either side of defence and will challenge Katie McCabe and Emily Fox for a place in the line-up.

Hinds returns to where it all started

Hinds began her football journey at Arsenal’s academy in 2010, at the age of 11.

She made her senior debut in October 2017, coming off the bench in a 7-0 League Cup win over London Bees.

Her first start came a month later in another League Cup game. Arsenal won 5-2 against Millwall Lionesses.

Hinds left Arsenal to sign for Everton on a permanent deal in 2018. She spent two and a half seasons with the Toffees, playing 30 matches and scoring once.

She later moved across the city in July 2020 to sign for Liverpool, where she made a strong impact.

Hinds helped Liverpool win the Women’s Championship in the 2021/22 season and played a key role in their promotion.

She was named vice-captain of the club in 2023 and led by example both on and off the pitch.

The left-back played a part in Liverpool’s fourth-place finish in the Women’s Super League during the 2023/24 season.

Hinds scored eight goals in 131 appearances across five seasons at Liverpool.

Although she played for England at youth level, she now represents Jamaica. She featured for England at the Under-17 and Under-20 World Cups in 2016 and 2018.

Her first call-up to the Jamaican national team was in October 2024. She made her senior debut that same month in a friendly against France.
