Bayern Munich now want to sign Arsenal star, Gunners value him above £50m

0 0

Bayern Munich are talking about signing Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli this summer, according to Sports Bild journalist Christian Falk.

The Bundesliga giants want to bolster their attacking ranks and the Gunners star has emerged as a target.

Arsenal value Martinelli above £50 million and they could be open to selling him if an attractive offer is tabled by suitors.

His current contract expires in 2027, but the North London club hold an option for an additional year and no significant talks have been held with him over an extension.

Arsenal want to sign a left winger and it remains to be seen whether getting one would see them put Martinelli up for sale.

The 24-year-old remains part of manager Mikel Arteta’s plans and has been a key player since joining from Ituano in 2019, with 225 appearances under his belt so far.

Martinelli has been involved in 51 goals and 29 assists across the six seasons he has spent with Arsenal, notching ten goals and six assists in 51 games last term.

Bayern appear to have been impressed with his qualities and experience, but holding on to him could be great for the Gunners even if they manage to sign another left winger before the summer transfer window closes.

They wanted Athletic Bilbao attacker Nico Williams, but he has opted to move to Barcelona, while Leroy Sane has joined Galatasaray despite Arsenal being strong contenders to sign him and holding talks with him.

Feyenoord left winger Igor Paixao has also been linked with the North London club, with other targets in the position expected to emerge in the coming weeks, and signing one could see Arteta decide between selling Martinelli or Leandro Trossard, especially if a huge offer arrives – one that is also attractive to either player.
