Arsenal rocked as top backroom figure nears shock exit

0 2

Arsenal assistant coach Carlos Cuesta is expected to leave the club to become the next manager of Italian club Parma (h/t journalist Fabrizio Romano).

The Spaniard is set to take over from Cristian Chivu, who has returned to Inter Milan after guiding Parma to safety in the second half of last season.

Talks between Cuesta and Parma are in their final stage, and an agreement is expected soon. The move will make Cuesta one of the youngest managers in the history of Serie A.

Cuesta is one of the most respected young coaches in Europe

Cuesta joined Arsenal in August 2020, at the age of 25. He had earlier worked in youth coaching roles at Atletico Madrid and Juventus before moving to London.

Although he never had a professional playing career, he quickly earned respect through his tactical knowledge and communication skills.

Many people rate Cuesta as one of the brightest young coaches in Europe. His move to Parma could be the start of a long and successful career in management.

Parma will be hoping Cuesta can build on the club’s recent progress and lead them to greater success in the coming seasons.

Arsenal are yet to name a replacement for Cuesta, but manager Mikel Arteta will be eager to fill the void left by his compatriot.

Arteta is under pressure to deliver silverware at Arsenal and needs all the help he can get to end the club’s recent trophy drought.
