Arsenal now open to selling 23y/o star with 50 games this term on one condition

0 2

Arsenal attacker Gabriel Martinelli has been identified as a valuable asset who could strengthen the Gunners’ budget during the summer transfer window, according to The Athletic.

The 23-year-old, who has played 50 times this season, remains part of manager Mikel Arteta’s plans for the time being, but there have been no significant talks held over a contract extension for him.

Martinelli is out of a deal in 2027, but Arsenal hold an option for an additional year and do not consider the situation urgent.

The Gunners value him above £50 million and could sell him if a huge offer arrives in the coming weeks as the market will dictate what happens with the Brazilian.

The North London club want to bolster their attacking ranks ahead of the new season, with a new number 9 and winger on their wishlist, and a sale may be required for that to happen.

Martinelli has ten goals and six assists this season after ending last season with eight goals and five assists, and his highest return in front of goal came in 2022-23, when he scored 15 times and assisted another seven across all competitions.

Some of the wingers Arsenal want to sign can deliver more in front of goal, and sacrificing him for an upgrade could be needed.

The Gunners want to win the Premier League title next season and go one better in the Champions League after getting eliminated by Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-finals this term, and they need quality and world-class attackers to get the job done.

Martinelli is a brilliant player on his day, but he is not one of the best out there when it comes to delivering consistently, and Arsenal appear ready to move on if the services of a top winger can be acquired to replace him.
