Arsenal now approach €100m No. 9 with 22 goals & 12 assists this term, spoken with his club
Arsenal have approached Eintracht Frankfurt and their striker Hugo Ekitike over a potential summer deal, according to RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins.
The 22-year-old and the Bundesliga club have agreed to let him leave in the coming weeks if suitors offer between €80 million and €100 million for him, and while the Gunners have a chance of landing him, they will face competition from Liverpool and Chelsea for his services.
Ekitike has notched 22 goals and 12 assists this term in 48 appearances and could be perfect for Arsenal in their search for a new number 9 this summer.
The former Paris Saint-Germain striker is ready to prove himself elsewhere, and a move to the Premier League could appeal to him after an impressive campaign in the German top-flight and his time with Reims which yielded ten Ligue 1 goals back in 2021-22.
Arsenal have to sign a central striker if they want to win the English top-flight title next season after finishing third for the third consecutive campaign, and the 6ft 3in forward is capable of improving their team with his goals and assists.
Ekitike is an excellent dribbler and passer of the ball, and his height makes him a constant aerial threat in the opposition box.
He is also a threat in counter-attacking situations and loves to do layoffs, playing a huge role to help Frankfurt finish third in the Bundesliga this term.
Arsenal could do with his qualities and style of play having agreed that getting Newcastle United hitman Alexander Isak this summer will be impossible given his huge price tag, and successfully convincing the Frenchman to move to North London could be huge.
Ekitike is still very young despite six full seasons as a professional, and he has plenty of room for improvement as he looks to establish himself as a starter for the senior French national team.
