Arsenal centre-back William Saliba will miss their trip to Southampton on Sunday due to a hamstring injury, but will only need a few weeks to recover, according to beIN SPORTS journalist Carrie Brown.
The Gunners will also be without versatile defender Jurrien Timber after he underwent ankle surgery yesterday.
Arsenal have qualified for the Champions League after their hard-fought victory over Newcastle United on Sunday, and they need one more point to guarantee a second-place finish as Manchester City are just two points behind them.
The North Londoners will fancy their chances against the relegated Saints, but being without both Saliba, who has played 51 times across all competitions this term, and Timber could cause them problems at the back.
Ben White will be expected to pair with Jakub Kiwior in the centre of the defence, with Myles Lewis-Skelly and Riccardo Calafiori likely featuring as full-backs against Southampton.
With the likes of Kieran Tierney and Oleksandr Zinchenko both expected to leave in the summer, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta could look to give the duo a chance to play their last games for the club, and Italian midfielder Jorginho could also see action ahead of his departure to Flamengo.
The Saints have won just twice in the Premier League this term but will be desperate to return to the Championship on a high, and they will be ready to give their all against the Gunners.
Injuries were a recurrent theme all through this season at Arsenal, and they could have done better in the Carabao Cup, FA Cup, Premier League and Champions League had most of their key players managed to remain fit from the beginning to the end of the campaign.
