Arsenal now want 22y/o with 12 PL goals this term, he’s available for £30m & has blown Guardiola away

Arsenal have been watching Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap ahead of the summer transfer window, according to the Sun.

The Gunners want to bolster their attacking ranks after missing out on Premier League and Champions League glory this term, and the 22-year-old is being monitored after the Tractor Boys got relegated.

Delap is available for £30 million after his initial release clause of £40m was reduced by £10m after Ipswich dropped to the Championship, but Arsenal will face the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United for his services.

The former Manchester City striker has impressed Pep Guardiola after bagging 12 goals and two assists in 35 Premier League games this term, and he could prove to be a solid addition to the Arsenal attack if snapped up.

He has proven that he can score goals in the English top-flight and could end up being a steal at his next club if the Gunners decide to look elsewhere.

Newcastle United hitman Alexander Isak is top of their summer transfer plans at the North London club, but he is expected to cost around £150m even if the Magpies opt to sell him should they miss out on Champions League qualification for next season.

Arsenal also have RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko and Sporting CP hitman Viktor Gyokeres on their radar and will be desperate to begin next season with a new number 9.

However, some at the club have reservations over the aforementioned duo given that they have not played in the Premier League, and sporting director Andrea Berta will hope to convince them that the Sweden international has what it takes to impress.

Delap appears to be a plan B for the Gunners, but suitors will not hesitate to go after him once his release clause can be activated, and Arsenal need to quickly make up their mind on which striker they want.
