Arsenal and Liverpool in intense battle for £50m European star who made his international debut this season

Arsenal and Liverpool are reportedly in a strong position to sign Bournemouth centre-back Dean Huijsen this summer.

According to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sport Germany, both clubs are leading the race for the Spanish international.

The 20-year-old defender enjoyed an excellent season with Andoni Iraola’s side. His form earned him a first call-up to the senior Spanish national team.

Arsenal set for a busy summer

Arsenal are expected to have a busy summer window. The Gunners are set to secure the signing of Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad.

Mikel Arteta is keen on adding more strength to his defence and sees Huijsen as a valuable addition to his squad.

Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba remain Arteta’s main defensive pairing, while Jurrien Timber and Ben White offer strong cover.
