Arsenal star now exploring Saudi move, Gunners would not stand in his way - report
Arsenal forward Leandro Trossard is once again exploring a move to the Saudi Pro League this summer after they previously expressed interest in him, according to the Daily Mail.
Al Ittihad wanted the Belgian last summer, tabling a verbal proposal in the region of €35 million, but the Gunners immediately rejected it, insisting he was not for sale at any price.
The 30-year-old has one more year left on his contract and it is understood that he sees now as the opportune time to get a final lucrative contract and play regularly.
Arsenal would not stand in his way if he opts to move on, and he will not be short of suitors as the Saudi moneybags look to recruit from the Premier League again this summer.
Trossard currently earns around £90,000 a week at the North London club, and he could get significantly more in the SPL considering that the likes of Ivan Toney bag £400,000 weekly after joining Al-Ahli from Brentford last summer.
The former Brighton & Hove Albion star has been a key player since he joined Arsenal in January 2023, weighing in with ten goals and eight assists in 53 appearances this term.
Trossard has provided quality squad depth for the Gunners in attack, with his experience coming in handy, and manager Mikel Arteta will not be keen on losing him.
However, the opportunity to earn big in Saudi could be too tempting for him to turn down, and Arsenal also risk losing him for free if they refuse to sell him this summer should suitors come knocking.
Having come close to winning the Premier League and reaching the final of the Champions League with the Gunners, Trossard has to decide whether he wants to stay for another chance to win major silverware next term or leave Europe for the big bucks as he nears the twilight of his career.
