‘Doing really well’ - Lamine Yamal says Arsenal ace is currently his favourite player after blowing him away

Arsenal suffered Champions League heartbreak at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday after losing 2-1 in the second-leg of the semi-finals, and Bukayo Saka would have been left gutted with the result having tried his best to get a result for his team.

The Gunners forward scored the consolation goal in the 2-1 defeat and was close to drawing them level some minutes after his goal.

Saka will hope Arsenal can improve heading into next season and one of the best players in the elite European competition has showered praise on the England international.

Rising Barcelona star Lamine Yamal has revealed that the Hale End graduate is currently his favourite player outside of his teammates in the La Liga club.

‘Right now, outside of Barça, I think (Ousmane) Dembele or Bukayo Saka are doing really well,’ Lamine said when asked who his favourite current player outside of Barcelona was.

Both players recognise themselves, with Saka recently praising the 17-year-old amid his explosive form.

They faced off in the final of the European Championship last year, with Spain running out 2-1 winners in a game the Barca kid hugely influenced.

Having seen the likes of Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly shine this term, Arsenal will hope more players from their academy can follow suit, and it is widely believed they have another emerging star on their hands in 15-year-old attacker Max Dowman.

The Gunners sensation has what it takes to take the Premier League and Champions League by storm like Yamal, and fans are eagerly looking forward to seeing him in first-team action.

Dowman has blown everyone away with his displays at youth team level and in training sessions with the Arsenal first-team, but he has been unable to make his official debut for the North London team as the rules state that a player can only make their first appearance during the season in which they turn 16.

As a result, the young attacker will have to wait until next season as he does not turn 16 until December 31, and seeing Yamal earning rave reviews would have inspired him.
