Arsenal could now offload 10-goal attacker as Saudi interest emerges - report

0 2

Arsenal could part ways with Leandro Trossard during the summer transfer window, according to The Mirror’s John Cross.

The Gunners are preparing for a busy summer and they could target at least four major signings.

A left winger could be one of the priorities, and it is claimed that Trossard could leave with just one year left on his contract.

The Belgian star is attracting interest from Saudi Arabia. Al-Ittihad failed with an approach to sign him at the start of the season.

Arsenal could open the door for Trossard’s exit

Trossard has been with the Gunners for the past two-and-a-half seasons. He has accumulated 49 goal contributions from 121 games.

This includes 10 goals and eight assists from 51 appearances this term. Despite this, Arsenal could be tempted to cash in on him.

Trossard is already 30 and has yet to agree on terms over a new contract beyond June 2026.

Arsenal signed the forward for £27 million with add-ons in January 2023. They could secure a small profit during the next transfer window.

Al-Ittihad were prepared to pay £30m for his services last summer. A similar proposal should urge the Gunners to part ways with him.

Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams has been on the Gunners’ radar for some time, and the club could step up their pursuit if Trossard leaves.

Williams possesses the quick dribbling skills of Trossard, but would be an upgrade with his better mobility and work rate from either wing.

He has a release clause worth £51m in his contract. A deal could be challenging due to his high salary demands, but Arsenal must show ambition to close the gap in the Premier League title race.
