Euro club appeals to Arsenal ace, yet to sign new deal Gunners have offered him amid exit rumours

0 1

Real Madrid are the only club that appeals to Arsenal defender William Saliba as he sees joining such a global powerhouse as the highest peak attainable, according to French outlet L’Equipe.

The La Liga club have been in regular touch with the representatives of the Gunners star for weeks as they eye a summer transfer deal, and they are ready to lure him away from the Emirates Stadium club.

Arsenal have offered Saliba a new deal as his current contract expires in the summer of 2027, but the 25-year-old has yet to sign it as he is thinking about his future.

The Frenchman wants assurance that committing the bulk of his peak years to the North London club will guarantee major trophies.

Arsenal are not interested in losing one of their key players anytime soon and have not placed a price tag on him, but Madrid will keep trying to sign him until the summer of 2026.

They are ready to play the waiting game and will hope Saliba does not sign a contract extension so as to get him for free in 2027 if Arsenal refuse to sell before then.

It remains to be seen whether winning the Champions League this season will be enough to convince the Frenchman to sign a new deal, and the result of the game on Wednesday could be huge for both club and player.

The Gunners play Paris Saint-Germain at Parc des Princes in the second-leg of the semi-finals and will attempt to turn around the 1-0 deficit from the first-leg.

They will be facing either Barcelona or Inter Milan in the final should they manage to beat PSG to a place in the last-two, and Saliba could play a huge role as Arsenal look to end 2024-25 with a major silverware having lost the Premier League title to Liverpool.

Madrid will continue to monitor his situation and not hesitate to swoop once they perceive they have a strong chance of convincing the centre-back into agreeing to a blockbuster transfer move.
