Gunners need key man for glory

0 24

Transfer speculation surrounding Kingsley Coman is intensifying once again, and this time Arsenal appear to be firmly in the conversation.

According to reports in Germany, the Gunners have made their interest in the Bayern Munich winger more concrete ahead of the summer window.

While the club continue to explore high-profile attacking additions, including strikers like Victor Gyokeres and wide men such as Nico Williams, Coman stands out as a unique opportunity.

Arsenal must move decisively, and new sporting director Andrea Berta should make the Frenchman his first major signing.

At 28, Coman brings more than just pace and trickery on the flanks. He represents something Arsenal have lacked in recent years — proven success at the highest level.

With 26 trophies won across spells with Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Bayern Munich, including a Champions League title and eight Bundesliga crowns, Coman has been part of winning dressing rooms for over a decade.

For a team that now finds itself on the cusp of silverware under Mikel Arteta, that experience could prove invaluable.

Arsenal’s rise under Arteta has been built on tactical discipline, positional rotations and intelligent recruitment, but there remains a missing piece.

While the current squad is full of talent and potential, few have been through the final stretch of a title race or a Champions League campaign and come out on top. Coman, who has often been decisive in big moments, would add exactly that sort of composure and mentality to the squad.

Technically, he is an ideal fit for Arteta’s system. Comfortable on either wing, predominantly right-footed but effective on both sides, Coman has built a career out of versatility and adaptability. That suits a team that constantly shifts shape and structure in the final third.

While his statistics this season — four goals and four assists in 23 league appearances — do not leap off the page, it is worth noting that he has been in and out of the side due to injuries and rotation under Vincent Kompany. Even in limited minutes, his ability to impact games remains evident.

Bayern Munich are reportedly open to letting him go for a fee in the region of £35 million, a relatively modest figure given his pedigree and the inflated market.

Saudi clubs may present financial competition, but if Arsenal can maintain their momentum — particularly if they go on to win the Champions League — they become a far more attractive sporting project.

Berta, known for his sharp talent identification at Atletico Madrid, now has the chance to stamp his authority on Arsenal’s next phase. Coman would not only raise the technical level of the team but also inject a winner’s mindset into a group that is learning to compete on multiple fronts.

This is exactly the sort of transfer that shows ambition without abandoning structure — an experienced elite player at the right age, available at the right price, and suited to the manager’s style.

If Arsenal are serious about bridging the final gap between potential and glory, Coman should not be an afterthought. He should be a priority.
