The FINA Championships begin Tuesday in Hungary, with Team USA facing Serbia.

Pacifics leading Pecos League

The San Rafael Pacifics swept the Santa Cruz Seaweed in a pair of games to maintain their lead in the standings a third of the way through the Pecos League schedule.

The Pacifics (14-2) have won three consecutive games ahead of a weekend homestand against the Monterey Sturgeon at Albert Park. San Rafael leads Tucson (10-2) by two games.

The Pacifics defeated the Seaweed, 9-2, on Thursday as Beau Dormin hit a three-run homer during a 3-for-4 night. San Rafael player/manager Kyle Ulandy made his first start on the mound for a complete game win with 10 strikeouts.

San Rafael stunned Santa Cruz on Friday in a 20-9 victory. Pitcher Jayson Summers struck out seven batters and gave up six hits in five innings for the win.
