Croatia beats host Hungary to win water polo world title
Croatia ended host nation Hungary’s hopes of a fourth world title in men’s water polo with an 8-6 victory in the final on Saturday in Budapest.
Captain Sandro Sukno scored a hat trick for Croatia, which claimed its second world title and first since 2007, when it also defeated Hungary in the final.
Serbia defeated Greece 11-8 for the bronze medal. Hungary’s silver was the country’s seventh.
Tennis: Second-seeded John Isner beat third-seeded Gilles Muller 6-4, 6-2 to reach the Atlanta Open final for the fifth straight year and the seventh time in eight years.
Isner will face fourth-seeded Ryan Harrison in an all-American final Sunday.
