Volleyball BC Seeks to Develop a Facilities Strategy

Since 2022, Volleyball BC has experienced growth of over 47%, with participants in youth club volleyball at a record high in 2026.  Beach volleyball is demonstrating a similar increase in popularity with the number of teams participating in Provincial Championships increasing from 277 to 372 in just 12 months.

While this growth is a positive indicator of the sport’s vitality and appeal, access to facilities is a significant challenge and barrier to the ability of Volleyball BC and its member clubs to meet this demand.  To address these challenges, Volleyball BC intends to assess the availability of indoor and beach volleyball spaces, identify opportunities, and develop a strategy to increase the availability of facilities for volleyball.

We are seeking a consultant with knowledge of sport infrastructure and experience of identifying and developing comprehensive strategies to increase facility access. The outcome of this work is the creation of a data-driven strategy to identify and support ways to support the continued growth of volleyball through access to appropriate places to play.

If you are interested in working with us to lead this assessment and strategy, we would like to hear from you!

We have released a Request for Proposals for individuals who are qualified and interested in being a key part of this important process.

Request for Proposal submissions are due by March 20 2026.

Proposals must be submitted to procurement@volleyballbc.org

Questions can be directed to Emma Gibbons, Chief Executive Officer, at egibbons@volleyballbc.org
