Washburn volleyball sweeps Emporia State, claims 15th straight Turnpike Tussle win
EMPORIA (KSNT)- It was all business Tuesday night for Washburn.
The 9th ranked Icahbods (15-1, 4-1 MIAA) claimed its 15th straight Turnpike Tussle win over Emporia State, sweeping the Hornets 3-0 (25-22, 25-17, 25-17).
Emporia State (13-3, 4-1 MIAA) entered Tuesday night riding a 13 game win streak, but couldn't keep up with the firepower of Washburn.
Austin Broadie led the Ichabods with a game-high 10 kills in the win. Emery Keebaugh had nine while Alex Dvorak had eight.
Corinna McMullen had a game-high 18 assists for Washburn followed by Sydney Conner with 16. The two also combined for 20 digs.
Emporia State was led by Camilla Ossola and Lavra Krizanic with seven kills each.
Delainee Dexter had 14 assists for the Hornets and Boglarka Rady had 12 digs.
Washburn is back on the court Friday night at 6:00 in Topeka taking on Fort Hays State.
The Hornets will stay home Friday at 6:00 and host No. 2 Nebraska-Kearney.
