Spartanburg Methodist College adding Men’s Volleyball for 2026-27
Another men’s program!
Spartanburg Methodist College (SMC) is proud to announce the addition of men’s volleyball as an intercollegiate sport, beginning in the 2026–27 academic year. President Scott Cochran and Director of Athletics Megan Aiello confirmed the expansion, which will bring the total number of SMC varsity sports to 15 at the NAIA level starting Fall 2026.
“SMC is proud to have competitive NAIA sports teams,” said Aiello. “We also provide our student-athletes with a strong academic foundation that prepares them for success in both their careers and personal lives. Adding men’s volleyball will not only strengthen our athletic offerings but also create new opportunities to shape well-rounded SMC graduates.”
The men’s volleyball team will compete primarily in the spring season, with additional opportunities for fall competition. SMC will compete in the Appalachian Athletic Conference, joining 13 other Pioneer programs.
This strategic addition reflects the College’s ongoing commitment to student-athlete development and academic excellence through a vibrant and expanding athletics program.
