Volleyball BC Launches Survey Concerning Club Competition Structure

BURNABY, BC (Jan. 22, 2025) – As part of our efforts to support the continued growth of youth club volleyball and ensure a quality experience for all participants, we have contracted Sport For Life to launch a survey inviting the public to review the current youth club competition structure.

The youth club system has experienced rapid growth in recent years, with participation rates reaching record highs in 2024, and a further 8 percent growth expected this year.  This growth has necessitated advancement in how we plan and deliver club competitions across the province and the opinions of our community members play a crucial part in driving this development.

The survey will welcome participants to share their thoughts and experiences with the current club structure, allowing us to better understand what positive and negative aspects exist in the current system and what direction we can take in shaping youth club volleyball in the future.

The survey is part of a larger project to review and improve the club system, with the goal to accommodate the growth of youth volleyball, promote athlete development, and ensure excellent experiences for all participants. Recommendations stemming from this work will be made later in 2025, for implementation from 2026 onward.

The survey takes about 20 minutes to complete and all responses to the survey will remain anonymous and confidential. Results will be shared publicly in an

aggregate and anonymous format. All respondents will also be eligible to win a prize from Volleyball BC.

We look forward to hearing your feedback!
